ΣΩΜΑ ΕΥΑΛΩΤΟ

Η ενότητα αυτή περιέχει τα έργα που ζωγράφισα 2009 – 2011. Η πρόθεσή μου ήταν μια σπουδή στο ανθρώπινο σώμα. Η πρόθεση αυτή, λόγω της σκληρής εφαρμογής του μνημονίου μετεξελίχθηκε σε μια ήπια μορφή διαμαρτυρίας που μου θύμισε τη ζωγραφική μου στα χρόνια της χουντικής επταετίας. Έτσι η ενότητα περιλαμβάνει αρχικά έργα με γυναικεία γυμνά σώματα, αμφίφυλα, αθώα, κουρασμένα και μετά απομονωμένα αντρικά γυμνά, φυλακή, σκληρότητα, αυταρχισμό, και κυρίως θυμό για αυτά που συμβαίναν στον τόπο μας.

Θυμάμαι τότε είχαμε την ψευδαίσθηση ότι αυτό δε θα κρατήσει πολύ. Και πέρασε μια δεκαετία.

Όλα τα έργα είναι με λάδι σε καμβά. Σύντομα μετά την έκθεση στην Έκφραση άρχισα τα προσχέδια για τη Γκουέρνικα και το σενάριο με την Κάτια για το Ussak.

 FRAGILE BODY

This section contains the works I painted between 2009 and 2011. My intention was to record a study of the human body. Owing to the harsh realities imposed by the memorandum, this intention evolved into a mild form of protest, which was reminiscent of my paintings during the seven-year military junta. Thus, the section contains original works depicting naked female forms, ambigender, innocent, weary, and then isolated male nudes, incarceration, cruelty, authoritarianism, and most of all anger about all that was happening in our country.

I remember we were under the illusion then that this wouldn’t last for long. And still, a decade went by.

All works are oil on canvas. Soon after the exhibition at Ekfrasis, I began the studies for Guernica and the USSAK screenplay with Katia.
